Improving Communication
Improving Communication

“Communication issues” is the most common reason couples seek relationship counseling. We understand that the source of this broad complaint can be a variety of different unhealthy or less than optimal relationship patterns. The solution to “communication issues” from couple to couple is as diverse as the couples we work with themselves. Appropriate intervention includes an understanding of each partner’s individual communication styles, each individual’s loving styles, the families they were raised in, their individual hopes/dreams/desires, the shared goals in the couple, culture and background, and many more aspects.
At The Catalyst Center, we understand that a couples cookie-cutter approach simply will not do. We will meet you both initially and then spend some time getting to know each member of the partnership. From there we will explore a treatment approach unique to your specific needs. We provide a balanced combination of skills and homework to work on between sessions as well as exploration of the deeper issues at the root of the problem.
Learn how to:
- Communicate effectively
- Discuss hot button topics
- Fight fairly
- Enjoy the day-to-day as well as the big picture
- Work through “stuck” issues
