Individual Therapy: A Collaborative and Effective Approach

AJ brings a collaborative and practical approach to our sessions. Known for her approachable nature, compassionate demeanor, and lighthearted sense of humor, AJ strives to create a welcoming environment from the moment you meet. Her expertise lies in working with diverse populations, particularly focusing on perinatal mental health, women who have experienced trauma, including birth trauma, sexual trauma, and religious trauma, as well as assisting female veterans. AJ is also passionate about supporting clients hoping to work through family-of-origin concerns and offers insight into complicated family relationships, including grief, blended families, and children with emotionally immature parents.

AJ’s approach to therapy is integrative and holistic. She believes that therapy involves more than a sole focus on the past. Instead, together, you will explore patterns throughout the lifespan to understand how past experiences influence the present and shape our path forward. Therapy with AJ is a collaborative effort where you navigate these complexities together, empowering you to achieve profound insights and meaningful growth. AJ has found EMDR to be highlight effective in healing trauma, and also incorporates tools from DBT to support clients cope with the many stressors in life.

Collaborative Therapeutic Assessment

Collaborative psychological assessment offers a comprehensive and insightful approach that provides clarity and understanding. AJ works with children, teens, and adults and is trained in the use of the ADOS-2 and skilled in diagnostic clarification, particularly for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She  believes psychological assessment is a powerful tool that can clarify the root of an individual’s struggles. This information can then guiding clients and their families onto the right path forward.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy: An Opportunity for Deeper Healing

AJ believes that Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a unique opportunity for profound exploration and transformation. She believes KAP is an innovative approach that creates space for more profound work, allowing your brain to form new connections and perspectives. Often described as a “power washing” for the mind, ketamine-assisted therapy offers an effective means to break through barriers and get unstuck, enabling you to see things from a fresh vantage point.

AJ enjoys working with clients who creatives feeling blocked or those  grappling with Family of Origin (FOO) issues and navigating complex family dynamics. Whether you’re a creative seeking inspiration or someone ready to embark on inner healing, AJ is here to support you every step, providing the tools and guidance needed for profound growth and insight.

Hear from AJ

I believe in a collaborative approach that helps you build up positives rather than focus on negatives. You’ll smile and laugh while you learn new ways to deal with challenges, both external and internal. If that sounds like jargon and nonsense to you – don’t worry. I love working with people who are new to therapy and promise it will all make sense as we go.

Things might be tough right now, but this is just one chapter in your life. Together we’ll get insight into your origin story and develop tools and skills you need to move forward, with a lot of support along the way. My job is to be in that beautiful mess with you, listening, helping, guiding, while we work to help you rewrite your story.
