Are You Feeling Disconnected?

Trauma can leave you feeling as though you’re always in survival mode—bracing for what might go wrong, even when you’re safe. You may struggle to relax, stay present with loved ones, or truly feel at ease in your own body. At times, you might notice yourself shutting down, going numb, or keeping others at a distance, even when part of you longs for connection.

These are common responses to overwhelming experiences, but they can also leave you feeling isolated and exhausted. You may find it challenging to trust, quiet the inner critic, or appreciate moments of joy. If anxiety, shame, or hypervigilance have become constant companions, know that you don’t have to carry this alone.

You May Feel Compelled To “Tough It Out”

It’s common for trauma survivors to minimize their experiences — to believe you should be able to handle it all on your own, or that what happened “wasn’t that bad.” Yet, it’s worth considering how past experiences shape your present emotions, thoughts, and responses to others. Trauma can leave lasting imprints on our bodies and minds, often without us realizing it.

If you’ve been seeking a gentle, compassionate space to explore these feelings, we invite you to consider a healing journey with us. At the Catalyst Center, trauma is our specialty. We embrace a holistic and trauma-informed approach to therapy, creating an environment where you can feel genuinely seen, heard, and validated. Our team of trauma specialists offers advanced, evidence-based care including EMDR, somatic therapies, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), neurofeedback, and more. Together, we can navigate a path toward healing.

Trauma Isn’t Always Limited To A One-Time Event

When people think of trauma, they often imagine life-threatening experiences like combat, natural disasters, or car accidents. These “Big T” traumas can be profoundly disruptive. But trauma can also take more subtle, ongoing forms. In fact, the National Council for Behavioral Health estimates that 70 percent of adults in the U.S. have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lives. [1]

For many, it’s the cumulative impact of “little t” traumas that leaves the deepest mark. Experiences such as childhood neglect, ongoing relational conflict, systemic oppression, intergenerational trauma, or chronic stress can shape the nervous system in powerful ways. Others may experience complex trauma, which develops when painful experiences are repeated over time—often in close relationships or during childhood. These ongoing or cumulative traumas are often overlooked, yet they can contribute to anxiety, depression, substance use addiction, eating disorders, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

We Often Avoid Support When We Need It Most

Even when we’re struggling, we often forego seeking help. This is usually due to the messaging we’ve received throughout our lives. For example, we may think that to be strong, we must “push through” the hard times and disconnect from emotion. Or perhaps we were told we shouldn’t share personal details with anyone outside the family. However, minimizing our experiences in these ways only prolongs our suffering and postpones healing.

The good news is that seeking trauma-specialized care can make all the difference. By establishing safety and trust throughout trauma counseling sessions, your therapist will collaborate with you to create a plan tailored to your needs and focused on recovery.

Trauma Therapy Offers Healing To Your Mind, Body, And Soul

If you’ve put off seeking help or felt discouraged by past therapy experiences, we understand. When you’re stuck in survival mode, you become acclimated to masking how you truly feel or pushing the pain away simply as a way to function. But that’s no way to live.

At The Catalyst Center, trauma treatment is our specialty. We take an integrative approach to trauma and PTSD treatment. All of our therapists are highly trained and experienced in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a leading evidence-based approach for trauma and PTSD. Additionally, we tailor care to your unique needs, using an integrative lens that considers biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors. Depending on your goals, your plan may also include integrative psychiatry, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, EMDR or Brainspotting intensives, neurofeedback, or psychological assessment—allowing us to provide truly comprehensive, wraparound care.

What To Expect In Sessions

Our counselors work with adults, teens, children, and families impacted by trauma. It’s common for our clients to underestimate the full impact trauma has had on their physical, mental, and psychological health. We often start therapy by looking at the big picture, identifying how trauma is showing up in your daily life, relationships, and nervous system.

Together, we will set long-term goals in therapy to reduce PTSD symptoms by improving emotional regulation, self-trust, and spiritual reconnection. With trauma-informed counseling, it’s possible to establish healthier relationships and reclaim a sense of agency. We believe in the potential for post-traumatic growth, while realizing that healing takes time. That’s why meeting you where you are is critical for true and long-lasting transformation to happen.

We Incorporate Somatic Modalities Into Trauma Therapy

Trauma isn’t only experienced in the mind—it lives in the body and nervous system. Yet most of us try to “think our way out” of trauma without addressing its somatic roots. Utilizing an array of body-based modalities and techniques offers a “bottom-up” approach that ensures recovery and healing from trauma is comprehensive.

In trauma therapy, you will learn:

  • Grounding, containment, and nervous system regulation techniques that draw from Polyvagal Theory, Safe and Sound Protocol, and somatic therapy
  • Parts mapping and self-compassion practices through Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
  • Trauma reprocessing skills through Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR), Brainspotting, or Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
  • Mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic tracking
  • Trauma-sensitive yoga and movement techniques designed to restore safety and connection to the body
  • Support in spiritual exploration, including reconnection with intuition, meaning, or purpose
  • Tools to navigate triggers, build healthy boundaries, and reconnect with others safely.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Can Support Trauma Healing

Traditional talk therapy alone can sometimes feel slow when you’re carrying the weight of trauma. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a powerful way to access deeper healing by creating the conditions for new perspectives and emotional release. In a safe, supportive setting, KAP can help reduce the intensity of trauma symptoms, ease depression and anxiety, and allow for breakthroughs that might otherwise take months or years.

At The Catalyst Center, our KAP team is uniquely experienced in combining psychedelic therapy with trauma treatment. Each of our KAP providers brings not only specialized training in ketamine therapy but also decades of collective experience as trauma therapists. Whether used as a stand-alone approach or alongside EMDR, IFS, or trauma intensives, KAP offers an opportunity to safely explore and resolve the roots of trauma. Our team will guide you through preparation, dosing sessions, and integration so the insights you gain become lasting change.

You May Be Interested In Trauma Therapy But Have More Questions…

"I doubt that I can change."

Many of our clients come to us after years of traditional talk therapy, which often isn’t an effective treatment for survivors of trauma. Our integrative approach—grounded in trauma-specific, brain and body-based methods—helps you move beyond cognitive insight and can actually change your nervous system. This bottom-up approach transforms how you experience the world. If you’re feeling stuck, we can draw from various tools, tailoring a trauma treatment plan that’s customized just for you.

"How much experience do your therapists have in treating trauma?"

Our trauma and PTSD specialists—including psychologists, therapists, and psychiatric providers—have advanced training and years of experience supporting people through all kinds of experiences. Many of us are certified in various evidence-based modalities for trauma, such as EMDR, brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and ketamine-assisted therapy. We also collaborate closely with each other to identify the best ways to support our clients in their healing goals.

"My previous experience in trauma counseling wasn’t very helpful—how will therapy at the Catalyst Center be different?"

When clients are let down by previous therapy, we often discover their previous counselor hadn’t taken a truly trauma-specialized approach. At The Catalyst Center, trauma treatment is at the core of what we do. All of our therapists are experienced trauma counselors with advanced training in EMDR, IFS, somatic therapies, and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy.

Here, therapy is collaborative and paced with care. You won’t be pushed or judged — instead, you’ll be supported by a team that understands how trauma affects both the mind and body. Our goal is not just to help you manage symptoms but to create real healing and change.
