Couples Trauma Therapy Intensives
Couples Shared Trauma Therapy Intensives in Denver CO
Reclaim Your Connection After Trauma
A focused, immersive experience for couples who’ve been shaken apart by trauma—and want to find their way back to each other
When Trauma Comes From Outside, It Still Lands Between You
You and your partner didn’t ask for this. Maybe it was a birth that turned terrifying. A medical crisis that pulled you both into survival mode. A car accident that left you shaken in ways you can’t quite settle. A loss that made the ground beneath you disappear.
You’ve been doing your best—holding it together, showing up for your child(ren), for each other, for your responsibilities. But something shifted. And now, even the smallest conversations feel heavy and tense.
When you try to talk about it, it turns into another argument. When you look to each other, you don’t feel seen and supported. And the hardest part is feeling alone in something you both lived through together.
Every day you wait, the distance grows wider. Don’t let this trauma define your relationship.

What If You Could Finally Heal From This—Together?
This intensive is your chance to create a true turning point in your relationship—before patterns harden and hope fades.
From “on edge” → to “grounded”
From “misunderstood” → to “seen and supported”
From “walking on eggshells” → to “reaching for each other with trust”
Let’s make space for feeling, for healing, for clarity, for conversations, for reconnection.
Let’s heal your nervous systems.
Let’s get you back on the same team.
The Value of an Intensive
Weekly therapy stretches progress over months—short sessions, gaps between visits, and life’s interruptions slow the pace and break momentum.
One week you’re working through a traumatic memory, the next you’re unpacking an argument from the night before, and the following week you’re addressing a parenting struggle. By the time you circle back to the deeper work, several weeks have passed, and the pattern repeats—progress stalls, and momentum is lost.
A therapy intensive breaks this pattern.
You step fully into the work without distraction, staying with the traumatic material long enough to process it fully and experience a tangible internal shift. You begin to see the traumatic experience, yourself, and your partner differently—and to respond in new, adaptive ways.
The outcome isn’t rushed insight—it’s lasting, embodied change.
You’ll feel lighter, calmer, and more connected to your partner, with renewed hope—all achieved in days, not months, through steady guidance, intentional pacing, and ongoing support.
Spots for these intensives are intentionally limited to provide the highest level of care and depth of support.
A Couples Words After Their Intensive
“We were losing hope after our son’s birth trauma and ongoing medical stress. The intensive helped us finally hear each other—really hear. For the first time, we understood what the other had been carrying. That clarity changed how we communicate and help each other. We feel more aligned, more connected, and more capable of making decisions together now.”

Common Questions about Couples Trauma Therapy Intensive
What is the difference between weekly therapy and intensive therapy?
The main difference is focus and pace.
Weekly therapy usually consists of one 45-50 minute session per week. It’s excellent for ongoing support, gradual growth, or working through issues at a slower pace. It gives couples time to reflect, practice skills between sessions, and integrate insights over months.
A couples therapy intensive, on the other hand, is longer, concentrated, and immersive— typically several hours per day over 1–3 days. It’s designed to create real breakthroughs in a short period of time, helping couples who are ready to jumpstart transformation and reclaim their connection now.
Intensives provide uninterrupted time to process trauma, rebuild trust, and reconnect deeply—compressing months of progress into days. Weekly therapy is about consistent reflection and steady growth. Both approaches are effective – it just depends on your goals and needs.
What is the cost of a Couples Therapy Intensive?
1-Day Couples Trauma Intensive, $2,100
(suited for a single incident or specific event)2-Day Couples Trauma Intensive, $4,200
(recommended for trauma that’s been ongoing for less than a year)
3-Day Couples Trauma Intensive, $6,180
(recommended for trauma that’s been ongoing for a longer time and needs more space to heal)Add on services: Gentle Flow Yoga (great way to start an intensive), Yoga Nidra (great way to end an intensive), Safe and Sound Protocol (helps calm the nervous system), Neurofeedback (supports the brain and nervous system in finding balance again)
Are couples trauma therapy intensives worth the time and money?
That depends on your relationship’s needs, the weight of unprocessed trauma, and how urgently you want real change. A trauma-intensive might be exactly what you need if you find that:
- the same painful patterns keep repeating without resolution
- emotional safety feels distant or has been broken
- you’re questioning whether your relationship can survive—and want to give it every chance
- you don’t have months to invest in weekly sessions and need deeper work now
In these situations, a couples intensive can be a game-changer.
Why an Intensive Is a High-Value Investment:
What is included in the cost?
Each intensive offers a thoughtfully curated blend of assessment, healing, connection, and restoration:
- Guided Preparation Session: A time to share your story, clarify your goals, and give you tools to regulate your nervous system. For our 1-day and 2-day Intensives, this intake is scheduled on a separate day so you can maximize focused therapy time during your intensive day(s).
- Focused EMDR Processing: Targeted trauma-resolution sessions designed to unlock stuck emotions and foster deep healing.
- Emotionally Focused Connection: Supportive conversations to help you share your inner experience, feel seen and heard, and lean into each other rather than away.
- Restorative Yoga Nidra: Guided meditative practice to support nervous system restoration and integration. The 1-day Intensive includes one session. The 2-day and 3-day Intensives include two sessions. These can be booked for any time, though it’s most impactful when used at the end of an intensive day.
- Post-Intensive Reflection: A session to debrief your experience, reflect on areas of insight, relief, and transformation, and explore your next steps.
Do you offer shorter follow-up sessions?
Yes. Returning couples who have completed a full intensive can schedule shorter half-day and 1-day follow-up intensives without repeating the full preparation process. In some cases, couples can schedule biweekly 80-minute sessions.
Where are therapy intensives offered?
In-person intensives take place in our Denver office. If you’re flying in, Denver International Airport is just a 30-minute drive away, and you’ll find a variety of hotels and restaurants conveniently located nearby.
We also offer online intensives throughout Colorado. Because virtual sessions aren’t the right fit for every couple—especially when you need that full sensory container for trauma healing—we’ll review your relationship’s needs together during your consultation to decide if the online format will support you both.
How should I prepare for an intensive?
Think of your couples therapy intensive as a dedicated retreat: block off your entire day(s), unplug from outside demands, and come ready to focus fully on your healing and reconnection.
Here are a few simple steps to set yourself up for success:
- Clear your calendar
- Get a good night’s sleep before day one
- Jot down any hopes or goals you have in a journal
- Arrive with an open heart and willingness to engage
With these preparations in place, you’ll be free to dive deep, stay present, and make the most of your intensive days.
Can insurance cover some of the costs?
Some insurance plans reimburse a portion of the cost of a therapy intensive. Keep in mind, insurance companies require a diagnosis code to authorize treatment. It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card for details about your specific benefits. Let us know if you need additional support through this process.
